It's been a month since I've updated, and it's been two months since Alyssa has updated. "I will try to write a post once a week or at least once a month!" she said....
Anyway, I haven't mentioned that I started kung fu class 2.5 years ago. Gotta fill in the gaps! So! I started with jow ga, which is a similar style to hung ga (think of earth benders in Avatar: The Last Airbender or Tekken's Feng.) And I just started wing chun a month ago. No footage yet of me doing forms; maybe there'll be one next lunar new year. But I now go to kung fu classes 4 times a week.
Last Tuesday, I went to see Vivid for the first time. (Well, second time but I only saw one light show last year and it was disappointing and the night ended with me at a cheap Internet cafe playing Warcraft Dota with 2 offline friends. The last 4 words saved me from ultimate sadness.)
Yesterday I received my Pebble smartwatch! Along with showing me the time (and date), it can also receive notifications from my phone (it supports iOS and Android) via Bluetooth, such as calls (and being able to accept or reject it), messages, and reminders. Because the display uses the same technology as the Kindle Paperwhite, it can last for several days before needing another recharge. So if you're wondering why I didn't wait for the Motorola's Moto360, it's because of that. Also, having Bluetooth on will drain the phone's battery more, especially if your phone doesn't support Bluetooth 4.0 yet. My phone already can't survive a full day without needing to be charged.
Charging up my smartwatch for the first time. I was also playing around with watchfaces. |
The Macbook keyboard. I also had to put labels on the Control and Option keys because I never remember the symbols for them. |
On a more honest note, I've gained a soft spot for mango pancakes since my trip to Queensland during 2013's lunar new year and would order some whenever I go for yum cha. I've been frequenting the new Vinh Phat place at Cabramatta.
